Description

This Sweet & Spicy Gochujang Shrimp recipe combines succulent shrimp with a flavorful Korean-inspired sauce that’s both sweet and fiery. Perfect for a quick and delicious meal!

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

Gochujang Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Additional:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix Gochujang Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Cook Shrimp: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  3. Add Sauce: Pour the gochujang sauce over the shrimp and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  4. Finish: Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Adjust gochujang amount for desired spice level.
  • For extra heat, add red pepper flakes.
  • Pairs well with steamed vegetables or salad.
