- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring (two contrasting colors, such as red and white or black and orange)

Instructions
- Prepare Apples: Insert a wooden stick firmly into the top of each apple and set aside on a parchment-lined tray.
- Make Candy Coating: In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat until sugar dissolves. Boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and divide into two bowls, tinting each with gel food coloring.
- Coat Apples: Dip each apple into the first color, let excess drip off, then place on parchment to set slightly. Drizzle or dip into the second color for striped or marbled effects. Allow to cool until the coating hardens.
