Description

Spicy Garlic Chili Noodles deliver a quick and flavorful punch with a perfect blend of garlic, chili, and savory sauces. This easy-to-make dish combines tender noodles with a spicy, garlicky sauce for a satisfying meal ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Noodles

  • 8 oz noodles (lo mein, ramen, or spaghetti)

Sauce and Seasonings

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chili paste or sriracha
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar

Garnish

  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Noodles: Prepare the noodles according to the package directions. Once cooked, drain well and set them aside.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, ensuring it doesn’t brown too much to avoid bitterness.
  3. Add Sauces and Spices: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), chili paste or sriracha, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and sugar. Mix well to combine all the flavors in the pan.
  4. Toss Noodles with Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss thoroughly to coat them evenly with the spicy garlic sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat, garnish the noodles with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Oyster sauce is optional and can be omitted to make the dish vegetarian.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes and chili paste quantities to suit your preferred spice level.
  • Use any type of noodles you like such as lo mein, ramen, or spaghetti based on availability.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free soy sauce and noodles.
  • Serve immediately to maintain the noodles’ texture and flavor.
