Ingredients
Scale
Noodles
- 8 oz noodles (lo mein, ramen, or spaghetti)
Sauce and Seasonings
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp chili paste or sriracha
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
Garnish
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Prepare the noodles according to the package directions. Once cooked, drain well and set them aside.
- Sauté Garlic: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, ensuring it doesn’t brown too much to avoid bitterness.
- Add Sauces and Spices: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), chili paste or sriracha, red pepper flakes, sesame oil, and sugar. Mix well to combine all the flavors in the pan.
- Toss Noodles with Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss thoroughly to coat them evenly with the spicy garlic sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat, garnish the noodles with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Oyster sauce is optional and can be omitted to make the dish vegetarian.
- Adjust red pepper flakes and chili paste quantities to suit your preferred spice level.
- Use any type of noodles you like such as lo mein, ramen, or spaghetti based on availability.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free soy sauce and noodles.
- Serve immediately to maintain the noodles’ texture and flavor.
