Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup dried food-grade rose petals or 1 tablespoon rose water
- optional pink or red food coloring (for color enhancement)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves.
- If using dried rose petals, add them to the saucepan and simmer for 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for an additional 10–15 minutes.
- Strain out the petals using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. If using rose water, stir it in after removing from heat. Add food coloring if desired.
- Let the syrup cool completely before transferring to a clean glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a stronger floral flavor, steep the rose petals longer or combine rose water and petals.
