Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Onion Flakes (or fresh minced onion)
- 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning (or mixed dried herbs)
- 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon Parsley (optional garnish)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (or other hard cheese)
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese (low-moisture preferred)
Meats and Dairy
- 1 cup Pepperoni Slices (or deli meats/veggies)
- 1/4 cup Butter (use vegan butter for dairy-free)
Doughs
- 1 package Refrigerated Pizza Dough
- 1 package Biscuit Dough (cut into quarters)
Oils and Sauces
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil (vegetable oil can substitute)
- 2 cloves Garlic (fresh recommended)
- 1/4 cup Marinara Sauce (homemade or store-bought)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it will be ready for baking the monkey bread.
- Prepare Bundt Pan: Generously grease your bundt pan with butter or oil to prevent sticking and help with browning.
- Mix Seasoning: In a bowl, combine olive oil, butter, onion flakes, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Heat this mixture gently until the butter melts and the flavors meld together.
- Prep the Dough: Cut the biscuit dough into quarters for even cooking. Also, cut the pizza dough into about 1½-inch pieces to match biscuit pieces in size.
- Layer Ingredients: Begin layering by tossing the dough pieces in the seasoned oil mixture to coat them thoroughly. Place half of the coated dough pieces into the bundt pan, then layer with pepperoni slices and Parmesan cheese for added flavor.
- Add More Layers: Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the dough and pepperoni layer, then drizzle marinara sauce evenly. Add the remaining dough pieces, pepperoni, and cheeses, repeating layers as desired.
- Bake: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the monkey bread is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool & Serve: Let the monkey bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes to set, then invert carefully onto a serving plate. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
Notes
- You can substitute biscuit dough with all-pizza dough but baking times may vary slightly.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
- Use vegan butter and skip cheese for a dairy-free version, or substitute with vegan cheese.
- Make sure to grease your bundt pan well to ensure easy removal.
- Serve warm immediately for the best gooey texture.
