  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Pasta:

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 ounces uncooked short pasta such as penne or rigatoni
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  2. Prepare Onion Base: Stir in garlic, thyme, and cook until fragrant. Deglaze with wine and simmer.

  4. Finish Pasta: Stir in cream, Gruyère, Parmesan until creamy. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes
