Ingredients
Scale
Beef Marinade
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
Vegetables & Cooking
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 2 green onions, sliced
Serving
- 4 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Add thinly sliced flank steak and ensure it is well coated. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
- Cook the Beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef and set aside.
- Stir-Fry Vegetables: Using the same skillet, add broccoli florets, sliced bell peppers, and julienned carrots. Stir-fry the vegetables for 5-7 minutes until they are tender yet crisp, maintaining vibrant colors and texture.
- Combine Beef and Vegetables: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Toss well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat everything through and blend the flavors.
- Serve: Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture over bowls of cooked rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and optional sesame seeds for an extra nutty crunch and presentation.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, slice the flank steak very thinly against the grain.
- Use any color bell peppers to add a variety of flavors and colors.
- Substitute rice with cauliflower rice for a lower-carb option.
- Marinate beef up to 2 hours ahead to deepen the savory flavor.
- Adjust vegetables according to preference or seasonal availability.
