Description

Indulge in the delicious combination of savory and sweet with this Maple Mustard Croissant Breakfast Sandwich. Made with flaky croissants, gooey cheddar cheese, flavorful mustard sauce, and your choice of ham, turkey, or bacon, this breakfast treat is sure to become a favorite!

Ingredients

Scale

Croissant Sandwich:

  • 4 large croissants, sliced in half
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked ham or turkey
  • 4 slices cooked bacon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare croissants: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place croissant halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  2. Make the mustard sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, and maple syrup. Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom half of each croissant.
  3. Cook the eggs: Heat a skillet over medium heat, melt butter, crack eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook to your preferred doneness.
  4. Assemble the sandwiches: Place a slice of cheese on the bottom of each croissant, followed by a slice of ham or turkey and a cooked egg. Add bacon if desired. Top with remaining croissant halves.
  5. Bake the sandwiches: Transfer sandwiches to the oven and bake for 5 to 7 minutes, until cheese is melted and croissants are warm. Sprinkle with fresh chives before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, drizzle extra maple syrup on the sandwich before topping with the croissant.
  • These sandwiches can be made ahead, wrapped in foil, and reheated in the oven for an easy grab-and-go breakfast.
