Spaghetti:

  • 8 oz spaghetti

Shrimp:

  • 1/2 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Sauce:

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 large lemon (about 3 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti: Boil spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. Sauté shrimp: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes. Add shrimp, season, and cook until pink. Remove shrimp.
  3. Make the sauce: Lower heat, add lemon juice, zest, and pasta water to the skillet. Toss in drained pasta, Parmesan, and shrimp. Stir to combine.
  4. Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve.
