Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

For the frosting:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (as needed for desired consistency)
  • Chopped walnuts, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix in sour cream and mashed bananas until smooth.
  4. Combine and bake: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Fold in chopped walnuts. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before frosting.
