Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds or flaxseeds
- 1 tablespoon protein powder or hemp seeds
- 1-2 teaspoons spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin spice)
- 1 teaspoon superfood powders (matcha, maca, or spirulina)
- 1/4 cup mini dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup dried fruits (chopped apricots, cranberries, or raisins)
- 1/4 cup nuts (chopped almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, or sunflower seed butter)
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, stir together the rolled oats, chia seeds or flaxseeds, protein powder or hemp seeds, spices, superfood powders, mini dark chocolate chips, dried fruits, and nuts until thoroughly mixed.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Add the nut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. If the nut butter is too stiff, warm it slightly to make stirring easier.
- Mix Until Combined: Use a spatula or your hands to blend all ingredients evenly. The mixture should be sticky enough to hold its shape but not overly wet, ensuring the bites stick together well.
- Form the Bites: Scoop out small portions of the mixture with a spoon and roll them between your palms to create bite-sized balls, approximately one inch in diameter for ideal snacking.
- Chill and Set: Place the formed energy bites on a lined tray and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving. Once set, they are ready to enjoy.
Notes
- You can customize the nut butter and dried fruit according to your preference or dietary needs.
- For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
- If the mixture feels too dry, add a little more nut butter or honey to achieve the right consistency.
- Store the energy bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Try rolling the bites in shredded coconut or cocoa powder for extra flavor and texture.
