Scale
Pizza Base
- â…“ portion pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- ½ cup pizza sauce
Toppings
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped
- ½ cup cooked ham, cubed
- ½ cup fresh pineapple, cubed
- ½ cup sliced shiitake mushrooms (optional)
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- Ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking.
- Assemble Pizza: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough portion to your desired thickness. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Evenly spread ½ cup of pizza sauce over the dough, then sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Arrange the chopped cooked bacon, cubed cooked ham, fresh pineapple cubes, and optional sliced shiitake mushrooms evenly on top of the cheese.
- Bake: Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the mozzarella cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven carefully. Sprinkle freshly chopped basil and ground black pepper over the top. Slice the pizza and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- For a crisper crust, preheat the pizza stone thoroughly before baking.
- Optional shiitake mushrooms add an earthy flavor but can be omitted for a traditional Hawaiian pizza.
- You can substitute bacon and ham with turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Fresh pineapple adds juiciness; drain excess juice to prevent soggy crust.
- Adjust black pepper seasoning according to taste preference.
