Description

This Crispy Beef Rice Bowl is a delicious and satisfying Asian-inspired dish that features flavorful crispy ground beef served over fluffy rice and topped with fresh vegetables. It’s a quick and easy meal that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

For the beef:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)

For serving:

  • 3 cups cooked white or jasmine rice
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup cucumber (thinly sliced)
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and starting to crisp. Pour in the sauce mixture and cook until caramelized and slightly crispy.
  3. Assemble the bowls: Divide the cooked rice into four servings. Top each with crispy beef, shredded carrots, cucumber slices, green onions, and sesame seeds. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add a fried egg or drizzle of sriracha mayo for extra richness.
  • Leftovers make a great next-day lunch and can be served warm or cold.
  • You can also substitute ground chicken or turkey.
