For the beef:

- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)
For serving:
- 3 cups cooked white or jasmine rice
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup cucumber (thinly sliced)
- 2 green onions (sliced)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and starting to crisp. Pour in the sauce mixture and cook until caramelized and slightly crispy.
- Assemble the bowls: Divide the cooked rice into four servings. Top each with crispy beef, shredded carrots, cucumber slices, green onions, and sesame seeds. Serve warm.
Notes
- Add a fried egg or drizzle of sriracha mayo for extra richness.
