  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¾ cup orange juice (fresh or bottled)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • â…“ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Whisk together cornstarch and flour. Dip chicken pieces in beaten eggs, then coat in the flour mixture.
  2. Fry the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • Fresh orange juice and zest give the best flavor.
