Chocolate Cake:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box, usually eggs, oil, and water)
Topping:
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 jar (10 ounces) maraschino cherries (drained and chopped, juice reserved)
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
Cream Layer:
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish:
- Additional chocolate chips and whole cherries
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Prepare and bake chocolate cake according to package instructions.
- Poke and Pour: After cooling, poke holes in the cake and pour sweetened condensed milk over it. Drizzle cherry juice on top and add chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
- Cream Topping: Beat cream cheese, add powdered sugar and vanilla. Whip heavy cream separately, then fold into cream cheese mixture. Spread over cake.
- Garnish and Chill: Garnish with chocolate chips and cherries. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
