Puff Pastry:

Apple Filling:

  • 2 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Additional:

  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the apple filling: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cook for 5–7 minutes until the apples are softened. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 rectangles. Spoon the apple mixture onto one half of each rectangle. Drizzle caramel sauce over the apples. Fold the pastry over, seal the edges, and cut slits on top.
  4. Bake: Brush with egg wash and bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Serve: Let cool slightly and drizzle with more caramel sauce before serving.
