- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Potatoes
- 2-3 medium potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
Beef Mixture
- 500 grams lean beef mince
Toppings
- Lettuce, shredded
- Cheese, dairy-free or regular (to taste)
- Pickle slices (to taste)
Burger Sauce
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon mustard (dijon or yellow)
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice (from the jar of pickles)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Prepare the Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside for seasoning both the potatoes and beef.
- Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and cut the potatoes into chip shapes. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove moisture. Place the potato chips into a large mixing bowl, toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and sprinkle half of the prepared spice mix. Stir thoroughly to coat the potatoes evenly with oil and seasoning.
- Cook the Potatoes: Arrange the seasoned potato chips in a single layer on a baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30 to 40 minutes or alternatively, cook in an air fryer for about 20 minutes, until the potatoes are golden and crispy.
- Cook the Beef: While the potatoes are baking, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the lean beef mince, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. When the beef starts to brown, add the remaining half of the spice mix. Continue cooking until the beef is well browned and any moisture has evaporated, ensuring a flavorful and slightly crispy texture.
- Make the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, blend together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir well, taste, and adjust the seasonings as desired for a creamy and tangy sauce that complements the burger bowls.
- Assemble the Bowls: Once the potatoes are cooked, divide them evenly among serving bowls. Layer shredded lettuce over the potatoes, spoon the spiced cooked beef on top, then sprinkle with cheese and add pickle slices. Drizzle generously with the homemade burger sauce. Serve the bowls immediately for the best texture and taste.
