Ingredients
Scale
Buffalo Chicken Filling
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups (280g) rotisserie chicken, shredded and chopped
- 1 cup (113g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup (84g) buffalo sauce
Pastry and Topping
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Ranch dressing, for drizzling
- Extra buffalo sauce, for drizzling
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Make the Buffalo Chicken Filling: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the cream cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and buffalo sauce until well combined. Set aside the filling.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry into a 9×12-inch rectangle to create an even base for the filling.
- Fill and Roll the Pastry: Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges to seal the roll properly. Roll the pastry tightly into a log shape, sealing the edges as you go to prevent filling leakage. Slice the roll into 1-inch pieces to create individual roll-ups.
- Bake the Roll-Ups: Brush the beaten egg over the tops of each roll-up to achieve a golden-brown finish. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown. For extra warmth and flavor, you can top with more buffalo chicken mixture and bake for an additional 6–8 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once baked, drizzle the buffalo chicken roll-ups with extra buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh, colorful touch and serve warm as a delicious appetizer.
Notes
- Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- Use fresh or leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience and flavor.
- If puff pastry is frozen, thaw it properly before rolling out.
- Brush egg wash carefully to avoid dripping on baking sheet and burning.
- For extra heat, add more buffalo sauce to the filling or serve with additional hot sauce on the side.
- Can be prepared ahead and baked right before serving for convenience.
