  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chiles

Seasonings:

  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Sauté Onion: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion in olive oil until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: Add garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Transfer beef mixture to a slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours.
