Ingredients
Scale
Chicken & Marinade
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Wooden or metal skewers
Bang Bang Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons sriracha
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your grill or oven broiler to medium-high heat to ensure it is hot and ready for cooking the chicken skewers evenly.
- Marinate Chicken: In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss well until each piece is thoroughly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Skewer the Chicken: Thread the seasoned chicken pieces onto your wooden or metal skewers, arranging them so they are evenly spaced for consistent cooking.
- Grill the Skewers: Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure all sides are cooked through and the chicken is lightly charred.
- Make Bang Bang Sauce: While the chicken is grilling, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice in a small bowl until smooth and well combined.
- Coat the Chicken: Once the chicken is fully cooked, generously brush the skewers with the prepared bang bang sauce or toss the chicken pieces in the sauce to coat thoroughly.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped green onions over the coated skewers and serve immediately while hot and flavorful.
Notes
- Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 20 minutes before grilling to prevent them from burning.
- Adjust the amount of sriracha in the sauce to control spiciness according to your taste preference.
- If grilling is not an option, you can bake the skewers in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15 to 18 minutes until cooked through.
