Description

This delightful Banana Sushi recipe is a quick and fun treat that combines creamy bananas with rich dark chocolate, nut butters, and crunchy toppings like sprinkles, chia seeds, shredded coconut, and rice krispies. Perfect as a playful snack or healthy dessert, it’s easy to prepare in just minutes without any cooking required.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Sushi Base

  • 4 bananas

Sprinkles and Chia Seed Sushi

  • 2 squares dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles
  • 0.5 tbsp chia seeds

Coconut and Rice Krispie Sushi

  • 1.5 tbsp nut butter
  • 1.5 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 3 tbsp rice krispies

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas: Remove the peel from each banana and place them on a plate or a clean cutting board as the base for your sushi creations.
  2. Prepare Sprinkles and Chia Seed Sushi: Melt the dark chocolate squares until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over two of the bananas, then sprinkle one banana with sprinkles and the other with chia seeds. Place these in the fridge until the chocolate sets completely.
  3. Prepare Coconut and Rice Krispie Sushi: Spread nut butter evenly over the remaining two bananas. Roll one banana in shredded coconut and the other in rice krispies, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Serve: Once the chocolate has set and the coatings are applied, serve the banana sushi immediately for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For a smoother chocolate melt, warm the chocolate gently in a microwave in short bursts or use a double boiler.
  • Use crunchy nut butter for extra texture or smooth for easier spreading based on preference.
  • Refrigeration time may vary based on your fridge temperature but generally takes about 15-20 minutes for chocolate to set.
  • These banana sushi are best eaten fresh to avoid sogginess, especially those with cereal coating.
  • This recipe is versatile and can be customized with your favorite toppings like crushed nuts or dried fruit.
