Description

Learn how to make delicious air fryer beef jerky at home with this easy recipe. Tender strips of lean beef marinated in a flavorful blend of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and spices, then air fried to perfection for a protein-packed snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean beef (such as top round or flank steak)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Trim excess fat from beef and slice into thin strips, about 1/8–1/4 inch thick, cutting against the grain for tenderness.
  2. Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Add beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.
  3. Air Fry: Preheat air fryer to 180°F (82°C) or its lowest setting. Arrange beef strips in a single layer in the basket without overlapping. Air fry for 2–3 hours, flipping halfway through, until beef is dry but still slightly pliable.
  4. Cool and Store: Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Notes:

  • For sweeter jerky, increase brown sugar to 2 tablespoons.
  • You can also add 1 teaspoon liquid smoke for extra smokiness.
  • Properly dried jerky can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerated for longer shelf life.
